It happens every year. We look at the calendar and ask, “Where did the days go?” Before 2020 starts to creep over the horizon, we took a moment to reflect on the events of the past 12 months.
Last year, HAIMER representatives presented at 52 trade shows across the county and around the world. These events are a great opportunity to show machinists the latest technology from HAIMER in person. We enjoy greeting old friends, meeting new ones and spreading the word about precision machining and how we can help manufacturers do it better and faster.
Here are some highlights of our 2019 trade show participation and other events held at our Illinois Headquarters, across the USA and around the world:
HOUSTEX 2019
Houston, Texas USA
February 26– 28, 2019
At HOUSTEX, HAIMER hosted over 260 students for the HOUSTEX Student Summit. The Student Summit aims to create interest, excitement and an appreciation for manufacturing. President Brent Holden spoke with students about HAIMER’s history and innovative product line.
In this video, filmed live from our booth at HOUSTEX, Brendt demonstrates our Tool Dynamic balancing machine, the VIO linear presetter, the power clamp I4.0 shrink machine and the Duo-Lock collets.
HAIMER Annual Open House
Villa Park, Illinois USA
May 14 – 16
Our theme for this year’s event was “Your System Partner Around the Machine Tool.” We were proud to introduce new innovations surrounding Industry 4.0 – with products that enable enhanced data communication and collection. As usual, live demonstrations were provided on Shrink & Balance Technology, New Cutting Tools and Tool Presetting.
Guest Speakers included Steve Kline Jr., Chief Data Officer at Gardner Business Media, Inc; Wayne Messmer, a professional speaker, singer, broadcaster, author and actor; and Kathrin Haimer (authorized representative and head of human resources) who spoke on “Bridging the Skills Gap Through HAIMER’s Apprenticeship Program.”
HAIMER HCCP
Villa Park, Illinois USA
7 Sessions
One of the other great programs offered at HAIMER is the HAIMER Competence Center Partner (HCCP) Training. HCCP is a partnership program which provides exclusive benefits including comprehensive classroom and hands-on technical sales training. Multiple times throughout the year, Haimer USA offers a two-day training session where attendees learn about our products via lectures, videos and live demonstrations.
EMO
Hannover, Germany
September 16 – 21
Over 117,000 production specialists from 150 countries convened at the 2019 version of the world's leading tradeshow for the metal-working industry. At the HAIMER booth, we displayed how modern tool management works with high-quality, process-reliable components, consistent digitalization and fully automated tool presetting using a robot cell.
Haimer USA Cares
Villa Park, Illinois USA
August
This year, Haimer USA tried something new: a community outreach project. Our employees joined forces to collect items for The Glen Ellyn Food Pantry. The reason we selected the Food Pantry for this project was that we wanted to support an organization that truly cares for the people they serve daily. Over the course of four days, we collected over 140 items. While not a trade show, we are equally proud of the effort our employees put out for this event. Learn more about the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry by visiting https://www.glenellynfoodpantry.org/. We plan to expand our outreach programs in the new year to help even more of our neighbors in the community.
Looking Forward
2020 is an IMTS year, and we’re already starting preparations for one of the biggest events in our industry. We hope to see you in Chicago on September 14 – 19. Stay tuned.
