Apprenticeship orientation

For many young people, apprenticeships are still the start of their professional life. In order to be able to make an informed decision about their own future, however, prospective trainees first need to know what options they have. HAIMER is there to help them.

HAIMER organises two job-finding days every year since 2005. At these job fairs, pupils are given the opportunity to make first contacts with companies in the region and to learn about different apprenticeship professions. The aim is to create an initial orientation for later career choices.

The focus is on the direct exchange of experiences with young people who are already undergoing training and their instructors. After all, no one can give a more competent and practical description of everyday life than those who experience it on a daily basis. Often, these conversations already remove uncertainties and fears that prospective trainees carry within themselves.

Girls Day is the largest career orientation project for schoolgirls in the world. The purpose is to get girls and young women excited about technology and technical professions - and perhaps to break down existing reservations. HAIMER also regularly participates in the major day event and opens its doors to production facilities in Igenhausen and Bielefeld.

It is true that mechanical engineering and toolmaking, like many technical professions, is a male domain, but women with an interest in engineering and technology can also find their passion and, above all, their destiny here!

HAIMER goes kindergarten was the name of the game in the tranquil town of Hollenbach (Aichach-Friedberg district) in 2016. Together with the children of the St. Ullrich kindergarten, we improved the fence of the kindergarten in 2016. Thanks to the energetic cooperation of all, a true work of art has since graced the grounds of this childcare center!

In 2014, the kindergarten was also pleased to receive new equipment for its technical corner - sponsored by HAIMER.

Haimer GmbH maintains school partnerships with the Realschule Affing-Bergen and the Mittelschule Hollenbach since 2016. Many joint projects and activities, such as company visits, job application trainings or practical handicraft lessons have already been implemented and realized. This awakens students' interest in technology - and gives them a break from everyday school life!

This school commitment of HAIMER received even an official award in 2018. On the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the Swabian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the partner schools of Haimer GmbH were awarded the Wilhelm Hübsch Prize, endowed with € 11,000, for the outstanding school partnerships.
